It was a sign not only of Phelim Drew's polished skill as an actor but also, to a degree, a reflection on the fact that The Whale theatre is already a well-oiled machine. Even though this is only its second week... Bringing his one-man adaptation of George Orwell's 1933 novel Down And Out In Paris And London to his hometown was always going to be a challenge for Drew, but, the audience, the material, the theatre, the actor... everything came together beautifully.
